Intuitive Touch-Screen Operation - NEC's POS system offers several one-touch features to make the operator's work easier. For example, for items with no barcodes such as newspapers, simply register them on the "Menu Buttons" to record a sale without having to scan each item. "Category Buttons" can be used to record vendor-specific sales by touching each button as registered. This is especially convenient for commission-basis items like prepaid cards.
	Operation Guidance - simple instructions are displayed on the screen to show required procedures for the current operation.
	HELP Function - at the touch of the "HELP" button, the help content related to the operation underway will be displayed. The operator does not have to search for a corresponding page on screen. This also means looking for the information in the operation manual is no longer necessary.
	Cashier Notifications - there are helpful reminder messages to support cashiers and enhance customer service. For example, when a customer has purchased a sandwich and drink, a bag sign and a straw sign would appear on the screen to remind the casher to provide these items alone with the products. A total of six reminder messages can be registered and displayed. This allows cashiers to carry out necessary operations for the purchases and prevent them from forgetting to provide items like spoons or forks - a great way to improve customer service.

Revenue Generation Opportunities

	Digital Signage Capability - for effective new product promotions and sales campaigns, stores can display targeted multimedia messaging on the screen facing the customer side. This can influence customer purchasing decisions at the point of purchase and increase revenue.
	Bundle Promotion - in addition to price discounts or percentage discounts, promotions like "2 for a dollar" or "buy 2 get 1 free" can be set. It is also possible to set "mix and match" promotion for two or three product groups. By being able to set a variety of promotional combinations, this feature allows retailers to boost sales volume.
	Receipt Promotions - you can use the sales receipt as a store promotion tool. The advertising can be printed on the bottom of the receipt. Different images can be pre-set so receipts can have different advertising messaging that matches the target customers. Coupons can also be printed on the receipt when the customer purchases a particular item or when the total amount of purchase reaches or exceeds a certain predetermined figure.

System Flexibility & Scalability
NEC's POS System is flexible in that it can work as a stand-alone POS unit without a store computer to reduce the initial investment. Our POS system features a simplified master entry tool and a collection/delivery management tool for retailers who do not own a store computer. As store expands and recruitments increase, the POS system can be easily upgraded by simply adding a store computer or headquarters features without having to replace the existing POS units. NEC can also provide middleware, software applications and installation services for multi-store operations.
