NEC's 5000 Series features increased RF channel capacity within a compact footprint, flexible configurations and enhanced fiber optic interface. Similar to its predecessors, the 5000 Series features SONET OC-3/STM-1 transport, NEC's proprietary Cross Polarization Interference Cancellation (XPIC), IF combined space diversity, adaptive time domain equalization (ATDE), state of the art modulation, excellent system gain, and a four fiber protected optical interface with built in protection switching.
